I want to encourage and
support literacy programs both locally and nationally. Here in
Fairfield County, Connecticut, the Mercy Learning Center provides basic literacy and life skills to low-income women. I
encourage all my readers over the next year to visit the Mercy Learning Center site and learn more about this excellent organization. Another good program, and one that operates nationally, is First Book. Visit their sites and support their important work in making literacy a gift for everyone.
